CARE AND MAINTENANCE

While Granville Creek cabinetry is built to last a lifetime, there are a few steps you can take to ensure the lasting beauty of the fine woodwork.

• Clean the cabinets as needed with a lint free cloth dampened with mild detergent or soap and water. Dry immediately with a lint free cloth.

• Do not use a dishcloth to clean or dry cabinet exteriors. It may contain remnants of detergents and grease.

• Do not use harsh detergents, strong soap, abrasive cleaners, or self-polishing waxes. All of these items could remove the applied finish.

• Wipe up spills, spatters and water marks as they occur, keeping the cabinet surfaces dry.

• Use an emulsion non-solvent cleaner and polish designed for solid wood cabinetry, on all clean surfaces as needed. Occasionally clean with CABINET MAGIC®.” Simply follow the directions of the respective manufacturer.

• Avoid using scouring pads or powdered cleansers. These may scratch and penetrate the surface, allowing food or moisture to enter and cause deterioration of the finish.

• DO NOT USE SUCH PRODUCTS AS “Old English”, “Pledge”, “Endust,” or any wax products. The wax used in these products could have a chemical reaction to the finish, making it impossible to repair or touch up.

• Try to keep your home climate controlled at all times, excess humidity or aridity can cause the solid wood in your cabinets to shrink or swell, potentially causing cracking or warping. Temperature extremes are also harmful. Wood cabinets do best in a steady temperature between 65 and 75 degrees, with 45 to 50 percent humidity.
